Introductory Spiritual Direction
At the end of June, seventeen students successfully completed the Introductory Spiritual Direction Course run by the Spiritual Direction (SpiDir) Network, which is an independent peer-led group that is financially self-supporting. The course took place at Douai Abbey, and as always we were grateful for their warm Benedictine hospitality.
The primary focus of the SpiDir Network is to make spiritual direction widely available within Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. We maintain a List of about 90 spiritual directors; they come from a range of Christian denominations and each has supervision. We run regular introductory courses for spiritual directors and for supervisors; in addition we organise three workshop-style event days per year for people interested in exploring spirituality.
On the SpiDir website (www.soulfriend.org.uk), you can find details of events and training opportunities available at any time, as well as how to get the current list of spiritual directors.
